Frequently Asked Questions

How often will I attend?

How long will I be in therapy?

How often will I attend?

I ask that new clients commit to weekly therapy sessions when we first begin. Research shows that consistent weekly therapy produces the best results, and I’m focused on helping you heal and grow as efficiently as possible. We can also discuss options for telehealth appointments to accommodate your schedule. After that, we will decide the frequency together based on your ongoing needs and progress, especially in light of any insurance acceptance that might apply.

If we are a match after your free 15-minute clarity call, you’ll gain immediate access to my secure online client portal, where you can complete a few simple forms related to insurance acceptance. I’ll review everything before our first therapy session, ensuring that we can make the most of our time during the telehealth appointments.

How long will I be in therapy?

My goal is to help you feel better and achieve your goals quickly—not to keep you in therapy forever. Most clients begin to notice meaningful progress within the first 6–8 weeks and can reach their initial goals in about 4–6 months through weekly therapy sessions. We also offer convenient telehealth appointments to accommodate your schedule. That said, many of the patterns, emotions, and experiences that lead individuals to seek therapy were developed over years, and healing varies by person—even for the perfectionist :-) Moreover, I accept various types of insurance to make the process more accessible.

Any evening appointments?

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

How long will I be in therapy?

Yes! I offer a limited number of early evening therapy sessions to accommodate my clients' busy work schedules. All telehealth appointments are conducted securely, allowing you to join from wherever is most convenient for you, and I also provide information on insurance acceptance to help with your needs.

Cancellations

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule your therapy sessions, please give me as much notice as possible (24 hours). We will work together to find another time that same week whenever possible, including options for telehealth appointments. I do have a 24-hour notice policy to avoid being charged for late cancellation if we are unable to reschedule within the week. Additionally, please note that insurance acceptance may vary.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy sessions are appropriate for individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, or other mental health challenges that disrupt their functioning across various life domains, such as family, work, and daily living. As a licensed therapist providing services exclusively to California residents, I use evidence-based approaches to help clients heal, grow, and improve their functioning. I also accept insurance to facilitate access to care and offer telehealth appointments for convenience.

Coaching, on the other hand, is tailored for individuals who overall function well but seek support in achieving specific personal goals, overcoming limiting patterns, boosting confidence, strengthening their sense of self, or enhancing fulfillment in their lives. Coaching services are available nationwide.

If you're uncertain about which option would be the best fit for your needs, I'm happy to discuss your goals and help you determine the most appropriate path forward.

Do you accept insurance?

Aetna (direct credentialing) has limited, temporary availability through the insurance plans accepted by Rula and Headway platforms.

**I am currently transitioning my practice to cash-pay therapy sessions and specialized coaching services. New clients are encouraged to contact me directly so we can discuss the best fit.**

Why the shift?

By moving to a private-pay model, I can devote more time to your progress, maintain greater flexibility in treatment, protect your privacy as much as possible, and continue providing the personalized level of care that I believe my clients deserve.

Many of my clients opt for private-pay therapy sessions because they appreciate a more tailored experience, enhanced confidentiality, flexibility in treatment options, and the freedom to concentrate on meaningful growth rather than on insurance requirements. This model enables us to collaborate based on what is most beneficial for you—not what is covered by a third party. If you have out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

I am deeply committed to helping my clients create meaningful, lasting change, and this transition allows me to maintain the high level of care, attention, and expertise that you deserve, including the option of telehealth appointments for added convenience.
